Lauren in Telluride, Day 3 of the Road Trip that started it all…

Napa of Beer was created on a whim after my “best beer friend” and I took a 4 day- 14 brewery road trip. At the time, we both spent our Saturday nights volunteering to sling beers at Pateros Creek Brewing Company. Our friends and colleagues wanted to know what we were drinking while they were holding down the Fort for us. Since then, Napa of Beer has become a go-to source for craft beer education, events and culture in Northern Colorado.

Lauren is the founder and manager of Napa of Beer. Being a Colorado Native, beer is probably in her blood. For her 19th birthday,

Lauren and her roommates dug a hole in a snow bank next to their house to fit in a keg of 90 Shilling. After a few years working for a State Representative under the golden dome in Denver and running her own nanny agency, it was time to switch gears. Earning the name “Brew Nanny”, Lauren nannied the adventurous, incredibly smart, and adorable kids of the owners of Pateros Creek Brewing Company, Dillon and Porter.  Plus, several other brew babies in the community. Since her days pouring beer  in the Pateros Creek taproom, she has hosted over 20 events at local breweries and bars, assisted businesses  in satisfying their craft beer needs, created a series of workshops designed to educate women on beer and been an advocate for the culture of craft beer.  In adddition, Lauren is a graduate in the Beverage Business Intitute at Colorado State University, with a focus on Brewing Operations Management. She is also a Certified Beer Server through the Cicerone Certification program and is studying to obtain her Cicerone Certification by the end of 2013. With an education background, Lauren’s goal is to educate others about craft beer and help to spread the craft beer culture.

Irene PhotoI have lived in Fort Collins for almost 8 years now. I moved here in 2005 with my husband to attend Colorado State and after graduating in 2009 we just couldn’t bring ourselves to leave! I work as a high school librarian at Rocky Mountain High School and also WORRY on the side (Wine, Om, Read, Run and Yoga). I recently graduated from my 200-hour Yoga Teacher training and have been working to start up my own business WORRY Warrior, teaching yoga, selling essential oils and offering health coaching advise. If you are looking for some private yoga instruction, let me know! I would love to work with you on developing and growing in your practice! My husband and I are big winos, but living in Fort Collins you have to enjoy beer as well, which hasn’t been a problem! We love spending time with our Great Dane Mini, and training for ½ marathon races in our free time.

  1. Lauren, I understand you are the premier craft beer enthusiast in town. I love your blog! I just collaborated with the local breweries to launch a website promoting tourism through the tap rooms with free scavenger hunt games. The link is ScavengerHuntBrewStyle.com. I’d love your comments as this project expands in scope! Jennifer Gray
